mosses monday: II

i was out in my front yard with maggie several weeks ago when my neighbor's daughter, janie, came over and started talking... she asked how my mom was doing (she was a year behind my mom in school and was good friends with her). i answered that she was fine.

out of nowhere, janie proceeded with, "dani, she never got over mike moss; did she???"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
my mom was a local beauty queen, bathing suit model, and an artist. mike moss was a very handsome, only child, rebel without a cause. he was several years older than my mom; but most of my mom's friends were closer to his age than her own. mike had already started college when my mother was just a freshman in high school.
mike's parents, the mosses, were enamored with my mother. they thought she was a kind, well mannered, beautiful young girl. the only thing i ever remember my grandmother say about mike was that he was "too pretty to be a boy". my grandmother loved mike moss...
(i think all the women did.)
mike moss was a charmer.
he liked the female persuasion as well; and news of his extra-curricular dating while away at school made its way back to my mom, who in turn broke up with mike. even though, he made it known that she would return to him one day...
(to be continued...)
love and blessings,
dani xx
The suspense is daunting, but I feel fortunate to know some of the story even though my "remembery" is a little rusty. It will be like reading a classic novel that I haven't read since high school. We had a lot of wind here-nothing like good ol' Henderson though!
So my wireless router went out and the new one that I bought is not the best, so my laptop is upstairs where my cable modem is. Why am I telling you this you ask? Because since I don't have time to be upstairs during the day my computer time is really limited and I missed the first few segments of this cool story. Thankfully, my friend, you did not let me down and I was able to catch up!!! AWESOME story!!!!!
Oooh, what an interesting story. I'm intrigued. Is that a weird thing for someone to say to you about your Mom? Seems like a strange, out-of-the-blue statement.
How's the diet going Dani? My hubby and I were talking about us starting on one this week...he wants to wait until all of the chips are gone first!!
I love your story. I get so excited to learn more & hear more. It's like reading a book, but not getting the headache from staring at the pages all day long!
Thanks for sharing it.
