"thankfully" the dilemma was solved for me:)

you may recall the thanksgiving dilemma i was having just a short week ago. well, it turned out to be no dilemma at all:D

thankfully, on wednesday night, my brother (oj) called to say that his boss had been roasting turkeys all day for his employees. thus, oj told me to make room in the refrigerator for a turkey and...

dressing!!!

what a nice surprise, huh???

so, i made mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, fried apples and corn, yeast rolls, and baked beans (chico's favorite;). i bought a pecan pie and a pumpkin pie. a delicious, afternoon, thanksgiving meal was served at 2 sharp here on the lane. as it turned out, i was extremely grateful not to have to leave the house at all.
no crowds!!! yessssss!!!
i do not like crowds.

yesterday was a really good day...
good company,
good food,
good weather,
and interesting entertainment:b

after eating, my brother and i watched the alvin and the chipmunks movie that came out last Christmas. it was pretty cute:)

and, while we were watching the movie...

katherine and chico built and decorated a gingerbread house i had bought for them.
they were so proud of their sweet decorating skills that they brought their gingerbread boy and girl in to show us.

(the gingerbread boy???)

(itsy bitsy, teensy weensy, yellow ploka dot bikini???)

however, while they were away from the house they'd just erected and decorated, Maisey (our BIG black cat) decided to check out their handy work. when she did, the whole house collapsed!!!

(the culprit, maisey;)

bahahahahahaaaaa!!!

such is life on the lane:P

how was your day???

love and blessings,
dani xx

That's a shame about the house, although I bet if it came down that easily it would have crumbled after a while anyway. Or was it because the frosting (glue) hadn't hardened yet?
I'm glad that you had such a nice day and that it ended up being one BIG nondilemma!

A house that's already crumbled is so much easier to eat, so in the end your cat did you a favour, don't you think ;) !

What a shame that the house collapsed!! Did they re build or just eat it in its collapsed state??

I am so happy Thanksgiving worked out :)

All I can say is thank goodness God is in control--things always seem to work for the best and if the gingerbread house collapses--you just have to to eat (not necessarily a bad thing right?!)

Bless their hearts! Makes me think of the "Three Little Pigs," only it was a cat instead of a wolf! Our friend Chad made a gingerbread house for Christmas during the last deployment, and he put "Fly Navy" on its roof. Boys, being boys, decided to use it for pistol target practice. Luckily, they put it on the cruise video, so we all got to be entertained by it. Tell Kat I love the bikini! She's a nut!

Geez, I am just relieved you weren't eating Thanksgiving dinner out of a styrofoam take-out box! Tell the kids they should hot glue that gingerbread house together first and THEN decorate it!!!
