and a day...

well, katherine had a really good birthday, yesterday!!!
thank you for all your sweet birthday wishes;
you are ALL such wonderful friends:)

when she awoke i gave her the "coldplay" tee-shirt she's really been wanting. lol, i had told her that they didn't have one for me to order that was small enough for her:P
(in order to surprise, sometimes you just gotta fib a little;)

(katherine donning the tee:)

i picked her and chico up from school yesterday afternoon so that we could meet john for dinner. we arrived at the restaurant first and were waiting for john. when he arrived, he was driving KATHERINE'S BIRTHDAY PRESENT...

A NEW CAR!!!

i had taken her last weekend to look at several. she and i liked the same one, a black toyota avalon. however, after she chose, we told her there were problems that had come up with that particular car and that she may have to settle for something else.
(in order to surprise, sometimes you just gotta fib a little;)

she was, thus, very happy when john took her out to surprise her with the car she'd chosen:D he was so excited to give it to her!!!
sooooooooooooooooooooo sweet:D

(katherine with her new avalon)

the party continues... i am supposed to pick up katherine and her friends this afternoon to take them to their favorite, buffalo wild wings, for another birthday dinner and fun:) more to follow...

love and God's blessings,
dani xx

ps i almost forgot... speaking of cars, can you believe this???
($1.44 a gallon, WOW!!!)

Oh wow ~ what a gorgeous shiny car ~ I love it!! What a lucky girl Katherine is!! I bet she is thrilled.
It must be so strange when all of a sudden your 'little girl' is going to learn to drive!! I sometimes wish I could press pause and stay in this moment just a tiny bit longer.
Big hugs and much love my friend,XXX

Can I be your child? That is an awesome gift Dani. How fun. That gas price is so low. We have about 20 cents left to go down to that price. Wow. Lucky lucky.

Yes, is there some type of application I can fill out to become the other son you always wanted?

How cool is that? Of course once Lisa sees this she will tell me (again) that we should do this for our girls when they hit the big 1-6.

We are down to 1.55 a gallon. I am so happy! I plan on getting my girls a car when they turn 16. They have to have really good grades to get one though. So, we'll see. ;)

Sounds like Miss Katherine had a great birthday! Kat's new car looks fantastic!! & I don't see that gorgeous smile leaving anytime soon! Fuel is getting better here too! we are now under $1 a litre, but not for my car that's $1.11 but it's better than $1.78 that's for sure!!! Have a great weekend Dani :)

Lucky, Lucky Girl!!
You folkies across the pond are allowed to do things so much sooner than us..apart from drink that is!- Hence our very poor reputation of course.
You were mentioning petrol Dani...Our prices over here have come down a little these past few weeks from what they were. But they are still very high. Ours is (for a gallon) $8.50!! ..it costs so much to get around on this little island of ours!
Our cars get smaller and smaller...do you have 'Smart' cars over with you yet?? I have one and I just adore it, it is so sweet and very economical. I think it must be kick back time from the days when I used to have to load all the children in the people carrier! - It's so peaceful in the car these days...bliss!
Enjoy your weekend Dani x

Hi Dani

Oh what fun I've had visiting again and catching up on news on the lane.

Happy belated 16th birthday to your beautiful Katherine. What a special age and wonderful birthday she had. You and John sure know how to give a fine surprise.

It sounds as though you are all enjoying the festive season. We have not yet visited any light displays, but the one you took Katherine, Hannah and their "peasants" to see looked spectacular.

I can't believe Maisey got her paws stuck into Katherine and Chico's (happy belated 18th birthday to Chico) decorated house. I hope you captured their creation in a photo before Miss Maisey tampered with it.

Dani, thank you so much for praying for my sister. Your prayers are very comforting for us and greatly appreciated.

Lots of love and hugs
Elise

Wow, a car for your 16th birthday! We don't have that around here. Well, one of the reasons being of course that you're not allowed to drive until you're 18... I suppose it's necessary in America, since everything is so far away. Congratulations!

Love,
Tania

Oh WOW!!!! My first car was a very used two tone blue Ford Fairmount that we named Bessie. lol (I forgot to mention that it used to be my Grandpa's and one of the blue colors was powder blue, UGH!) She is indeed one very lucky girl!!! Have fun and drive safely, Katherine!!!
