hey amanda...
i actually got the idea for this blog when tabitha over in the uk and i started talking about food.
(she's on a diet and has lost several "stones"...)
she asked if i had ever had "Christmas pudding". i had to google it in order to answer her. yesterday, she made yorkshire pudding and took a picture of it. i had to google it to figure out what it was on the plate...
elise is the "loo", as she's made many trips there lately.
emma kate is the footy and cubby.
of course, most my european and australian friends are "mums" who sometimes get to sit on their "bums" in the "garden" to read... then SOMETIMES get to go on "holiday" to some place warm and beautiful:)
ROTFLMAO!!!
love,
dani

That is fantastic Dani ~ the one that gets me is when I hear trousers referred to as 'pants' ~ here in the UK 'pants' are your underwear (or they get called knickers!!), not sure what you call your under garments in the US ha ha!!! I have often read blogs and thought the same ~ so many different ways to express things ~ we are truly a cosmopolitam lot LOL!!!!
No news on Elise yet ~ have been checking both blogs (Elises and her mums) ~ hope we hear soon ~ I am so impatient ha ha!!
love to you XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

dani said...

tabitha, here we call them panties, , underwear, or 'drawers', lol!!!
wealthy men are who i most often hear refer to their pants as "trousers".
oh, and barbecue is shredded pork butt or sheep in a tangy red sauce here. barbecue there is anything grilled, is that right???
i put out an sos to miss lucy to send up a smoke signal or something... just kidding:D i did ask if elise was still in labor, though. i'm too excited to sleep. it's 2:30 am here!!!
amanda (photochick), ^^^ is up waiting with us!!!
love,
dani

Tanya said...

Well done!! it's funny how we all refer to things differently, or have/do things our friends in another country have no idea what we are on about!!

I hope we hear some news about Elise soon!!

I have just returned home with the gorgeous Miss Tayla... we went to a place called 360 degree view for a photoshoot with some of daddy's birthday balloons, it was indeed "Beauty Full" let's just hope they turn out.. or we'll be going back again tomorrow lol.

love,
Tanya xxx

dani said...

hey, tanya:) i just stopped by your place!!! i hope your pictures are awesome: i know they will be (how can you go wrong with the gorgeous tayla in the mix!!!).
what kind of place is 360 degree view???
love,
dani

PhotoChick said...

I'm afraid to go to sleep because I know that will be the exact moment that news will be posted about Elise!

Am I crazy...? Well, If I am then I'm blaming it on lack of sleep! Hehe!

dani said...

i haven't even tried, amanda:b i just washed my face and refreshed my page at miss lucy's. still no news.
i think she will post something just as soon as elise has him, or at least that's the impression i got:)
i was just thinking that blogger needs to come up with an alarm for when a post is made!!! lol!!!
now, THAT's craziness!!!

ps... WHERE THE HECK IS CNN WHEN WE NEED THEM???

PhotoChick said...

Haha! No kidding Dani! Seriously, we need like a phone call chain going or something! Anyone have free international calling? (sadly, I'm actually quite serious!)

Tanya said...

Dani still no news!! I hope Elise is not still in labour, I guess it all depends on when they actually induced her! I really thought she would have delivered by now!

360 degree view is a place that you can see the ocean & the mountains with nothing to block your view, it's pretty awesome at sunset!!!

love,
T xx

Hi you two mad sleep deprived ladies (ha ha!!)....I am here waiting too ~ unfortunately I have the childrens school sports day at 10am, so I have to head off for the morning (it is 9.40 am now!!), and you can bet ya little mini will come while I am out (typical!!)......will be checking again when I get home!!
My neighbour had her baby yesterday (her first), a little boy ~ and he was due Monday 7th ~ so Elise is the last to have her baby now ~
I am praying that all has been good for Elise and that she is indeed not still in labour since 7am aussie time!!!
love and hugs to you both (Dani and Amanda XXXX) XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Aaargh! I've gotta get out of my hubby's stinky garage! (He smokes out here, and I fear that I'm beginning to smell like an ashtray)

Of all the times to be without a laptop - sheesh!

I'd be forever in your debt if you'd maybe wanna call me when you hear anything...? I'll still be up, I'm sure! I got just a bit of a nap in late in the evening, and now I'm just wired! (My mom would say that I'm would tighter than a drum!)

Anyway, don't feel obligated, but if you happen to be awake when news is posted about Elise, my cell phone # is 812-480-8820... Feel free to call anytime actually!

Sorry I'm skipping out on the actual internet watch, but the stale smoke smell out here is killing my throat.

xoxo
Amanda

PhotoChick said...

Ha! Real quick, I just realized that I said "would tighter than a drum" ... that should be "wouNd tighter than a drum" oops! Ok, now I'm running into my house for real! It's just too awful to stay out here any more! I'll still be awake, like I said - just in a more comfortable breathing area!

Oh, I sure hope Elise is doing OK - I just pray she doesn't have a labor like last time (she left me a comment a couple of months ago when I talked about being in labor with Liv for 20-something hours that she was in labor even longer than that with Sav...)

xoxo
Amanda

Panties (with a 'y') in Belgium are actually tights. So if I said I was wearing a dress but no panties I guess you guys in the States would be rolling your eyes!!! haha

I keep checking on Elise as well. Either she's still in labour OR Lucy is having problems with posting OR Mini is just too cute and no one wants to leave the hospital (I'm hoping for the latter). Get some sleep my friend.

Love,
Tania

Great news about Elise! The bub is just so cute:)
Ha-ha! I was just reading Tabitha's comment about pants being underwear, not trousers. In Scotland we have another name for underpants, it is your drawers! We have a different language in Scotland!!
We can call the loo the 'bog' or the 'lavvy'. If somthing is really dirty ( dirty lavvy etc ) we will say it's boggin!
Thats to name only a few.
Thanks for asking, we all had a great time. I will blog about it soon as the kids are settled.
Love Amanda xx

dani said...

hi, amanda:) i'm so happy you had a great time!!! and, i cannot wait to see your photos.
elise's bub is darling; isn't he!!!
he really resembles savannah. i cannot wait to hear ALL about him and her induction experience... troy didn't fara well this time; bless his heart.
have a good evening!!!
