two girls, a peasant, and indiana jones...

i had a date this afternoon with katherine, her bff hannah, and barrett (kat's peasant with a fro, who has a most humorous new read:o) to go and see the kingdom of the crystal scull... i love, love, love harrison ford as well as the aforementioned three:D

the indiana jones movies have all been incredible; my favorite is the last crusade because, imo, sean connery and harrison ford rock as a father/son duo!!! it is hard for me to believe, however, that it's been 19 years since that movie was released!!! where has the time gone??? i was only a sophomore in college in 1989 when the last crusade was released...

anyway, i picked my three "dates" up from school this afternoon, we were entertained by the peasant with a fro (barrett's sure all are envious of his curly locks and rightfullly so, lmao!!!), we went to g.d. ritzy's (a greasy burger joint) because barrett's "tumblin' was a rumblin'" (or so he said), ate, and went to the early movie.

the kingdom of the crystal scull was VERY good. i think it has gotten mixed reviews, but we all really liked it:D

*****just as an aside... something that was very funny to me was nearly all the talk shows have made a big deal out of the fact that harrison ford could still fit into his original costume (mainly making a big deal that he could still wear the pants)... well, if the pants he had on in the kingdom of the crystal scull were indeed his original costume pants, he and i could have both fit into them;] they were waaaaaaaaaaaaay loose!!!
and, indy still has only one fear... SNAKES!!!
(i don't like them either!!!)*****

that's all i'm giving away about the movie because it really is worth going to see on the big screen. enjoy:D and, get a box of jr. mints for me (they didn't have any today:[...)!!!

love and blessings,
dani xx

Hi Dani

I'm glad to hear that all three of you enjoyed this movie. I've seen some reviews here which have not given it a favourable wrap at all. Not that you can always trust the reviews you see in the media. We're keen to go and see this movie, so it might be one of the last movies we see before Mini Boy Blue arrives.

I also loved the Last Crusade, It doesn't feel like 19 years ago. I couldn't believe it when you said it was that long ago. I still remember sitting in the cinema and seeing this movie. I was with my mum and some family friends. One of the girls we were with got a fright during the movie and as she gasped at one of the secens she inhaled a whole lolly. She was fine, but I can't believe this happened all that time ago.

Love and hugs
Elise.

you know elise, it was not the best movie i've seen lately. but it was very good.
i think the reason it has gotten a sort of bad rap is because it is a true indy movie!!! and, over the past 19 years, we've seen so many movies with incredible special effects that maybe it diminished the indy effects of old... if that makes sense???
i just soooooooooooo enjoyed seeing ford back in action, it was certainly no "let-down". further, it was pretty action packed, and the time flew.
if you and troy go, i hope you enjoy it:D

dani

19 years ago??? Really??? I'm having a heard time believing that as well! We are growing old, aren't we?

K. really likes Indiana Jones, as does my dad which I way I've seen the movies more than once on tv (have to admit that I liked them a fair bit myself - especially with Sean Connery). I'm sure we'll rent it once it's out on DVD. We don't go to the cinema very often and only seem to go when there's a good movie for the kids. We loved Ratatouille and might go and see Kung Fu Panda. It's expensive here though, at about 10.5 USD per ticket - not including popcorn!

Hugs,
Tania

hi, tania...
i don't go very often, either. lol, the last movie i'd seen in the theater was shrek 3. and, that was over a year ago. it's pretty expensive here as well (about $9 dollars a ticket). plus, most movies come out on dvd after about 3 months.
but, the kids were really wanting to go, so i caved!!!

Hi Dani,
That is what my two children want to see this weekend, how funny!!
It came out here on 22nd May, but we are hopefully going to go over this weekend, as it is indeed a Bank Holiday!!!
Glad that you enjoyed it!!
I am looking forward to seeing Harrison Ford and his Pants!!

tabitha,
have they seen any of the previous ones??? i think they will really like it...
prince caspian is supposed to be excellent as well; but, the anonymous d told me it was not reccommended for children under 11 (obviously it's a little 'darker' than the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe). i'm not sure which she and her husband decided to see tonight???
with it being a holiday, do the kids still have their activities and lessons??? if not, i hope you get to rest and ENJOY!!!
love,
dani

We are planning to take the boys to see that movie too!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, we all like a movie with a bit of action, and it doesn't get much better than Harrison Ford!

Oh yes, I had a thing for Indy but unfortunately we are both VERY afraid of snakes which made for an unbalances relationship. Are there any snakes in the new one? =)
